Robotic assisted resection of bronchogenic / pericardial cyst/ lymph nodes / retrosternal goitre
Through 3 or 4 tiny incisions of 8mm each the bronchogenic/pericardial cyst can be accessed and complete resection or de-roofing of the cyst can be achieved with excellent cosmetic results, quick recovery and minimal discomfort.
Bronchogenic cysts are congenital malformations of the bronchial tree. They can present as a mediastinal mass that may enlarge and cause local compression. It is also considered the commonest of foregut duplication cysts. As the cysts grow they can also get infected.
Pericardial cysts are rare, benign, congenital encapsulated cysts implanted on the pericardium and are not connected with the pericardial cavity. Usually they are asymptomatic and are discovered as a incidental finding.
